WLS and Palustrine Group join forces

Making a bigger and better impact on the environment

Two east coast environmental restoration-mitigation banking companies just joined forces to make an even bigger impact–for the better.

Kayne van Stell, VP of Ecosystem Design for Water and Land Solutions, LLC, confirmed that WLS had acquired the Charleston, South Carolina-based Palustrine Group, LLC.

“We are extremely excited to expand our ability to restore natural resources and provide strategic market solutions for our clients’ growing credit needs. This combination unites a cadre of the most talented specialists in the mitigation industry,” Kayne said.

Going forward, WLS will be led by Tommy Cousins, former president of Palustrine Group.

“My team is looking forward to merging our knowledge and experience with the already-talented WLS team. Now, even more so, we’ll get our clients the permits they need and achieve successful ecological outcomes. This merger allows us to really show the industry and clients that economic development and environmental restoration don’t have to be a zero-sum game,” he says.

Palustrine Group operates in North and South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. WLS is headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, with a growing footprint in Ohio, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia, Kentucky and Maryland. This merger expands the companies’ presence and capabilities.
