Job Description

WLS is looking for a motivated Restoration Monitoring Manager to join our team in the Raleigh, North Carolina Office. This is a multi-disciplinary position and requires coordination across the company, including managing a small team. This position would serve as the lead Restoration Monitoring Manager on a wide variety of stream and wetland projects. An educational background or work experience in ecological restoration and natural resources is required. Responsibilities would include a wide range of environmental work, including:

  • Stream determinations and wetland delineations

  • Functional assessments

  • Mitigation project monitoring of stream and wetland sites

  • Construction management of mitigation sites

  • Data collection and analysis

  • Regulatory permitting, such as 404/401 permits

  • Technical report writing

Ability to travel with limited overnight stays and extensive field work is a requirement of the position. In addition to education in ecological restoration, experience with GIS, survey equipment, and invasive species vegetation management is preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Ecological Restoration, Environmental Engineering, or relevant discipline

  • At least three years direct experience in ecological restoration

  • Proficiency in stream and wetland delineations

  • Ability to travel

  • Proficiency in Excel, GPS, and GIS applications
